The forward, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, said the goal was not necessarily his best in terms of quality, but it meant the most to him personally.

“The best goal of my career so far came against Borussia Dortmund,” Boniface said.

According to the Nigerian international, the moment became even more special because it happened on a day when his grandmother watched him play live for the first time.

“It wasn’t about how beautiful the goal was, but about what it meant to me,” he explained.

Boniface revealed that his grandmother had finally travelled to see him play after he secured his move to Bayer Leverkusen, making the occasion unforgettable.

“That was the first time my grandmother saw me play live after my move to Leverkusen,” he added.

The striker noted that scoring on such a meaningful day made the moment one he would always remember throughout his career.

“It made the goal very special for me because of the emotions attached to it,” he said.

Boniface has been one of Nigeria’s rising attacking talents in European football, earning recognition for his physical strength, finishing ability and work rate in the final third.

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen, he has continued to impress with important goals and strong performances, helping the German club compete in both domestic and European competitions.

Despite his growing reputation, Boniface insists that moments like the Dortmund goal remain the ones that define why he plays football.

“Football is about moments like that, when you can share something special with your family,” he concluded.
