TFF Funfair in Temeke Rallies Fans Ahead of CHAN Quarter-Final Against Morocco

Dar es Salaam came alive on Wednesday as the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) staged a colourful funfair in Temeke to mobilise support ahead of the national team’s CHAN quarter-final clash with Morocco on Friday.

The federation, led by its media officer Cliford Ndimbo on behalf of the president, called on fans to turn up in their thousands at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to cheer the Taifa Stars as they aim for a historic place in the semi-finals.

“The president of the federation has asked me to call on every Tanzanian to fill the stadium on Friday. We need everyone’s voice to push the team over the line,” said Ndimbo while addressing the crowd.

The awareness drive featured lively activities including dance competitions, football quizzes, and the distribution of replica jerseys to lucky supporters. The atmosphere was electric as music, drumming, and chanting filled the streets, creating a carnival-like mood that attracted families, youth, and die-hard football fans.

According to TFF, the funfair was not only about entertainment but also about uniting Tanzanians behind the team and instilling belief that victory is possible against the defending champions Morocco.

“We want people to feel part of the journey. This is more than a football match; it is about pride, unity, and showing Africa what Tanzania can achieve,” Ndimbo added.

Sports247Naija, which is on ground to cover the event, reported that hundreds of fans turned out for the rally, many waving flags and chanting songs of support. The federation believes such events are crucial in building momentum and ensuring the stadium is packed with passionate fans come match day.

The Taifa Stars, who advanced to the quarter-finals after an impressive group stage campaign, will now face their sternest test yet against Morocco. Kick-off is scheduled for Friday evening at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
