Team Borno is highly motivated and fully prepared to deliver a colourful representation at the Gateway Ogun 2024 National Sports Festival.
The contingent, led by the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Sports Council, Alhaji Bura Mustapha Alesadiyaye, alongside directors from the council, is en route to Ogun State for the prestigious sporting event.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Alhaji Bura commended the collaborative relationship with the Honourable Commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Poverty Alleviation, Comrade Sai’na Buba.
He also praised Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his unwavering support towards youth and sports development in the state.
Team Borno will be competing in 20 different sporting events with over 100 athletes representing the state at the festival.
Since the assumption of office by Governor Zulum, Borno State has consistently participated in local, national, and international sporting competitions—earning numerous medals and accolades.
The events will span both team and individual sports, including football, beach volleyball, boxing, athletics, among others.
A testament to the governor’s support is the recent triumph of El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club of Maiduguri, who clinched the Presidential Federation Cup last year by defeating Abia Warriors in Lagos.
