Taiwo Awoniyi Emerges As Second Most Influential African Player In The English Premier League

Taiwo Awoniyi’s crucial goals saved Nottingham Forest from relegation in the Premier
League.

Awoniyi, who was signed from Union Berlin for £20 million, had a remarkable impact on the newly promoted team, helping them secure their place in the topflight.

His 10 goals contributed 13 points to Forest’s tally, elevating them to 16th position with 38points from 38 games.

Opta statistics reveal that without Awoniyi’s interventions, Forest would have only earned 25 points, placing them in the relegation zone. Among African players in the league, only Mohamed Salah surpassed Awoniyi’s performance.

While Salah’s goals couldn’t secure Champions League qualification for Liverpool, Awoniyi’s goals were instrumental in Forest’s survival.

Other notable players who made significant contributions include Harry Kane, Erling
Haaland, Ivan Toney, Marcus Rashford, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Eberechi Eze, Alexander Isak,
and Philip Billing.
