Iheanacho’s remarkable goal-scoring streak in 2021 made him a favorite among Foxes fans, which ultimately led to him receiving the club’s main accolade. He follows in the footsteps of previous winners James Maddison, Jamie Vardy, and Ricardo Pereira over the past four seasons.

One of Iheanacho’s standout moments last season occurred in February, when he scored
two goals and provided three assists in wins against Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Additionally, his remarkable playmaking ability was demonstrated in the 1-1 draw with Leeds, where he managed to set up Jamie Vardy’s equalizer despite tearing his groin.

In addition to Iheanacho’s recognition, right-back Timothy Castagne was awarded the
Players’ Player of the Year. Castagne, the Belgian international, showcased consistent and
reliable performances throughout the season by starting in 36 out of 38 Premier League matches. Leicester City Women, who managed to secure their safety, saw goalkeeper Janina Leitzig emerge as the fans’ choice and receive the approval of her teammates.

The German goalkeeper, who arrived on loan from Bayern Munich in January, played a vital role in Willie Kirk’s team’s turnaround, overcoming a seven-point deficit at the bottom of the table.
