Both the SWAN National body and its FCT chapter spoke in unison when top officials of the association paid a courtesy visit to Barr. Edeh celebrated his birthday, weeks after he emerged as Benue FA chairman.

Newly elected Secretary-General of SWAN, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, who represented SWAN National President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, used the opportunity to present his Certificate of Return to the FA Chairman.

Thereafter, he thanked Barr. Edeh for his numerous contributions to football development in Benue and the entire country.

He said with him on the saddle as the BSFA boss, football will witness total revolution within a short, adding, “Already in few weeks after your emergence, the signs of better things to come are all over the place.

The steps you have so far taken in less than two months appear as if you have spent more time on your current position.”

The SWAN scribe then called on members in FCT to ensure harmonious co-existence among themselves as the Isaiah Benjamin-led administration is committed to a united and inclusive sports writers body in all chapters.

On his part, SWAN FCT chairman, Mr. Chidoka Ndubueze, assured him that the association will continue to partner with him for being steadfast as its Patron.

He said, “We are here for three things. One is to present to you the certificate of return of our new Secretary-General, to say thank you and celebrate your birthday, as well as to congratulate you on your emergence as the new Benue State FA.

“We want to encourage you to keep up the good work you have  been doing as an FCT SWAN patron.”

Responding, Barr. Edeh thanked the entourage for their visit and expressed gratitude for the unprecedented support he has enjoyed from SWAN.

He then preached unity among its members, saying it is the only way to deepen the already existing success built over the years.

“For FCT SWAN, it is my family, the umbilical cord of my emergency as Benue is tied around FCT SWAN. How do we deepen the success we had over the years? There is a need to unite, I want to see the bond of brotherhood moving forward before the end of the year.

“For national SWAN, there is a lot we can do together, more so that the association is drawn back home, now it is in the north.

“We need to begin to create a cluster of activities that will make the association stand out. I urge everyone to see how they can contribute their own quota, and the welfare of your members is critical that you must take seriously.

“I so much believe that with the current National President and Secretary-General, SWAN is on a trajectory to a new phase of progression. All they need is the support of all to succeed,” he said.
