Supporters’ club expresses shock over death of Taiwo Ogunjobi

The Nigeria Football Supporters’ club has expressed its shock over the death of the chairman of Osun State football association and former Secretary- General of NFF, Chief Taiwo Joseph Ogunjobi.

 

In a statement signed by the NFSC national chairman, Rev. Samuel Ikpea, it described the news as a’ rude shock’. Adding that today, is indeed, a black ‘Monday’ for Nigerian football.

 

” This is a rude shock and a bad day for Nigerian football,” Ikpea lamented.

” It is saddening that we have lost a rare gem. Late Taiwo Ogunjobi was a top class administrator whose contributions to the development of football in Nigeria cannot be quantified,” he stated.

” He was a registered member of the NFSC and he was also present at my election in 2016, at the Teslim Balogun stadium. His love and support for the NFSC, cannot be easily forgotten”.

Ikpea further eulogized Ogunjobi as a person who understood the roles of football supporters in the game.

” The executives, members of the NFSC, home and in diaspora, commiserates with the Nigeria Football Federation, Osun state football association, as well as, family and friends of the deceased on this sudden death.

” And we pray that God grant Nigeria football community and the family and friends he left behind the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”, he added solemnly.
