“Support Them and Trust Them” — Joshua Daniel Rallies Nigerians Behind Golden Eaglets Ahead of WAFU-B Championship

Former Golden Eaglets player Joshua Daniel has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), football stakeholders and Nigerians to give the national U-17 team maximum support ahead of the WAFU-B Boys Championship in Burkina Faso.

Daniel believes Nigeria possesses enough grassroots talent to compete successfully at the tournament, expressing confidence that the coaching staff have selected players capable of delivering positive results.

The former youth international stressed that the players need encouragement and backing rather than unnecessary pressure as they prepare for the regional competition.

“Nigeria, we are blessed with a lot of quality players, a lot of players that are from the grassroots. We have them a lot,” Daniel said.

“And I believe the coaches have done their work. They’ve selected the ones that they know will deliver for them.”

Daniel insisted that providing the right environment for the youngsters would be crucial to their performances, urging football authorities and supporters to demonstrate confidence in the squad.

“Just give them the maximum support that they desire, the maximum support that they need, so that they can be able to conquer and move up from this stage,” he stated.

The former Golden Eaglets player acknowledged the ambitions of both the coaching crew and the players, maintaining that they would be determined to make Nigeria proud.

“I know the players themselves and the coaches, they want to excel. They want to move further, so they would not like to let Nigerians down,” he explained.

Daniel expressed optimism that the team could achieve its objectives if given the necessary backing throughout the championship.

“I believe they will do better,” he added.

He also urged stakeholders to ensure the players have everything required to compete effectively.

“Give them everything that they require. I know they’ve done their primary work, they’ve done everything, so it’s just the support,” Daniel stressed.

“Support them and trust them, and we know that they will come back successfully at the end of the day.”

For Daniel, Nigeria’s young footballers have the talent and ambition to succeed, but sustained encouragement and institutional support will be essential to their campaign in Burkina Faso.
