Former Regianna of Italy midfielder, Ikpe Ekong has added his voice to expectations of a glorious outing for Nigeria at next year’s Africa Cup of nations, as he believes the Super Eagles will shine at the competition.
Although the Eagles missed the past two editions of the continental soccer showpiece, Ekong recounted that it was the same setting, when they missed the 2012 version but went on to win the cup in 2013.
Ekong said in a chat with sports247.ng that he is confident the Eagles will do well, because he believes Nigeria have the right quality of players to represent the nation well.
The AFCON 2004 bronze medalist in Tunisia added: “If the right things are done, Nigeria is capable of winning the Nations Cup next year.
“In fact, beyond the Nations Cup, Nigeria is even capable of surprising the world, only that we have to do the right things at the right time.”
