Super Eagles keeper Uzoho tastes action for Elche first time in five weeks

Super Eagles number goalkeeper Francis Uzoho marked his return to action by keeping a clean sheet for Elche as they drew 0-0 with Sporting Gijon at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero (Elche) on Sunday night.

The 20-year-old got the nod to start in goal for the first time since November 4 in the Segunda Division.

This was due to the injury he sustained against Cadiz.

Uzoho, a regular for Gernot Rohr’s Super Eagles missed international games against South Africa and Uganda in the process.

However manager Juan Jesse Martin handed the nod to the Nigerian and he excelled in post.

Elche failed to convert easy chances despite massive support from the home fans
