Samuel Chukwueze Undergoes Successful Surgery, Faces Spell on the Sidelines Until March 2027

Super Eagles and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze has successfully undergone surgery in London to repair a ruptured tendon of the tensor fasciae latae muscle in his left hip, dealing a significant blow to the Nigerian international’s campaign.

Sports247 reports that the former Villarreal winger is expected to return to Milan, where he will immediately begin a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the club’s medical team.

According to the injury update, Chukwueze is expected to remain out of competitive action until March 2027, leaving AC Milan and the Super Eagles without his services for a considerable period.

The development comes as a major setback for the 27-year-old winger, particularly after he had made an encouraging start to the season and was looking to build consistency with his performances.

Known for his pace, dribbling ability and attacking creativity, Chukwueze has been an important attacking option for both club and country. His absence will therefore require adjustments as AC Milan navigate their upcoming fixtures.

For the Super Eagles, the injury also raises concerns about his availability for upcoming international assignments, depending on the progress of his recovery.

While attention will now shift to his rehabilitation, the priority remains ensuring that the Nigerian forward makes a complete recovery without unnecessary pressure to rush his return.

Chukwueze’s determination and quality have earned him admiration from football supporters, and there will undoubtedly be strong backing for him throughout this challenging period.

It is an unfortunate interruption to what had been a promising campaign, but the hope is that he returns stronger, fitter and ready to make an impact once again.

Get well soon, Samu! Nigeria and the football family wish you a smooth and speedy recovery.
