The momentum stayed with the hosts, and just three minutes later, substitute Michael Olalusi doubled the advantage with a composed finish, putting the game beyond the visitors.

Head coach Bobola Akinfolarin hailed the supporters for their energy, stressing that the team would keep improving as the season progresses. “The fans pushed us today, and we will continue to work harder in our upcoming games,” he said.

Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), Divine Ogbonaya, also expressed satisfaction with the performance, noting that the club remains focused on achieving its long-term objectives this season.

Gateway FC head coach, Ayo Filani, declined to address reporters after the defeat.

Sunshine Stars will hope to build on this momentum as they prepare for a crucial next fixture against Inter Lagos.
