Stephen Keshi Stadium Gears Up for NNL Super 8 Playoffs as Promotion Race Heats Up

The stage is set for the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 promotion playoffs at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba, with the pitch receiving top maintenance ahead of the high-stakes competition scheduled from July 5th to 12th.

Eight clubs—four from the Northern Conference and four from the Southern Conference—will battle for four coveted slots in next season’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Northern zone will be represented by Wikki Tourists FC, Doma United FC, Barau FC, and Yobe Desert Stars, while the Southern Conference brings Kun Khalifat FC, Warri Wolves FC, Crown FC, and Osun United into the fray.

The tournament, organized in a round-robin format, promises intense competition, as only two teams from each conference will gain promotion to the NPFL.

NNL officials and stadium personnel have intensified efforts to ensure world-class playing conditions throughout the tournament.

“The pitch is in excellent shape and all facilities are ready to accommodate both players and fans. We are confident of a smooth and exciting playoff series,” a stadium ground official confirmed on Wednesday.

With clubs arriving in Asaba brimming with confidence and fan support growing steadily, all eyes will be on which four teams will rise to the top and secure a place in Nigeria’s elite football league.

The tournament not only serves as a gateway to the NPFL but also as a platform to showcase emerging talents from across the country.

Football stakeholders are optimistic that the Super 8 will further affirm NNL’s vital role in the nation’s football development structure.
