Football stakeholders and enthusiasts across Nigeria have continued to shower praises on the organizers of the Moyero Football Scouting Tournament, currently taking place at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu Ode, describing it as a laudable initiative that bridges the gap between grassroots football and professional opportunities.
The tournament, which kicked off on Friday, October 17, 2025, has attracted scouts, academy owners, and football administrators from within and outside the country, offering a platform for young players to showcase their skills and chase their dreams of becoming professional footballers.

Speaking at the event, former Ondo State Commissioner for Sports, Mr. Saka Yusuf, hailed the organizers for their commitment to youth development, noting that the competition has provided a constructive avenue for talented youngsters to stay focused and off the streets.
“I want to commend the organizers for putting up such a remarkable tournament that not only keeps boys off the streets but also helps them believe in themselves,” Yusuf said.
Also lending his voice, academy owner Alhaji Adeleke emphasized that the Moyero Scouting Tournament is a reflection of Nigeria’s rich football potential.
“This scouting exercise has gone a long way to prove that the future of Nigerian football is bright, particularly with the abundance of talents spread across the country,” he noted.
Foreign scouts Walid Adel and Guisse Charle, who are part of the talent identification process, commended the quality of players and the large turnout witnessed so far. They, however, stressed that only outstanding talents with the right mentality and technical ability will make the final selection.
“We’ve seen a lot of promising players, but our focus is on those who show exceptional quality, discipline, and understanding of the game,” said Adel.
From the initial 26 participating teams, the tournament has now entered its final phase, with select players grouped into new units where they will continue to battle for recognition and potential contracts.
Organizers say the Moyero Football Scouting Tournament aims to sustain a continuous pipeline for discovering and nurturing future stars who can represent Nigeria at both local and international levels.
