‘Simy’ Nets For, Against Crotone Versus Perugia

Crotone of Italy towering striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) tumbled from hero to villain in action against Perugia, as he scored a crucial goal but then added one in his own net in a 2-1 loss for his side.

Dramatically, while ‘Simy’ fell from good to bad in the Serie B fixture, fellow-Nigerian, Kingsley Michael ended the evening with top marks for namesake, Kingsley Obodo’s former club, as he got an assist on their first goal.

Michael was the lad on all lips from Perguia, as the 19-year-old youth international posted a five star performance to help his side to victory.

‘Simy’ scored the leveller for Crotone after Perugia took the lead in the 23rd minute thanks to a through pass from Michael, who was on from start to finish.

Sadly, ‘Simy,’ who was part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, scored an own goal which handed all three points to Michael’s team at Perugia’s Stadio Renato Curi.

It was Michael’s ninth game and the lad on loan from Bologna has a goal to his name, while ‘Simy’ has his bull’s eye three times in 12 games for Crotone so far this season.
