Simy: My Daughter’s Birth Boosted My Career

Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) has stated that his career took a major leap with the birth of his baby daughter on October 13th.

 

 

‘Simy becamse a father barely a year after his marriage to former Miss Chidinma Chinenye and sports247.ng reports he is now couting the baby as one of his major blessings of the year 2018.

 

High on the gains of the 26-year-old forward surely has to be making the Super Eagles’ squad to the World Cup in Russia, but he says the arrival of his daughter gave him an additional boost to his career.

 

Simy, who dedicated his second goal of the season in Crotone’s home tie with Salernitana on October 28 to his baby, said, after breaking football records for club and country, it was good to gain something off the pitch.

 

He revealed: “It’s been a beautiful experience for me being a father and everything changed the moment she stepped into our family and we pray it continues to be like this.

 

“I’m enjoying myself and time with my baby. I’m glad she is here. My family and I are very grateful for this.

 

“Unfortunately, I was in Italy and my wife was delivered of our baby in the US. So I was not in the labour room.

 

“It was a very calm and healthy process. We are very grateful for this. I’m grateful to God for being a father for the first time.”
