Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids has confirmed he will leave the club after today’s CAF Champions League tie against Gaborone United of Botswana.
The decision comes on the back of a difficult spell in which Simba suffered four consecutive defeats to bitter rivals Yanga SC, including the Community Shield loss at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium just four days ago.

Reports from within the club suggest tensions between Davids and management escalated after he initially refused to travel with the squad to Botswana, having learned that Simba’s leadership was considering sacking him due to poor results against Yanga since his arrival last season.
Although he eventually agreed to lead the team in Botswana, insiders claim the agreement was made on the condition that he would step down immediately after the match.
Explaining his struggles, Davids pointed to two key challenges: Simba’s failure to secure top players—many of whom joined Yanga instead—and the poor state of the training ground at MO Arena, which he says hampered preparations and overall performance.
Meanwhile, the South African tactician is already being linked with a quick return to the dugout. Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, who dismissed their coach yesterday after back-to-back league defeats, are reportedly keen to appoint Davids as his replacement.
