Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF) has taken a solid step towards digitilising its activities and broaden participation in the event across the country, Sports247 gathered.
The NSSF’s efforts in that direction received a boost with the unveiling of the federation’s National Integrated Shooting Sport Portal, which officials described as a landmark move aimed at repositioning the body and its activities in Nigeria.
The event, which took place under the theme ‘One Federation. One Platform. Built for Trust,’ was also used by NSSF’s president, Commodore Mohammed Sagir Shettima to give updates on giant strides already being achieved and gave promises of more to come.
Shettima, who spoke on Skype, disclosed that the NSSF’s effort to install digital effects is designed to reposition shooting as a major sport in Nigeria, while also providing real time information about athletes, events, rankings, membership and global affiliations.
The body’s second vice-president, Abubakar Aliyu added, “The unveiling of the NSSF Portal marks a significant milestone in the Federation’s drive to digitalize, unify and broaden participation in shooting sport across the country.
“We urge interested organizations, clubs, athletes and individuals passionate about shooting sport to log on to our official website – www. nssf.org.ng – to register and formally join the Shooting Family. Shooting Sport is a globally recognized competitive discipline.”
