Semi-Final Line-Up Set As Drama Unfolds On Final Day Of NBSL Super Finals Group Stage

The final group games of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super Finals produced a thrilling photo finish on Friday, with teams sealing their semi-final places in dramatic fashion at Jabi Lake Park, Abuja.

It was a day packed with tension, surprises, and last-minute twists as Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, Kebbi Fishers BSC, Kada BSC, and Kebbi United BSC booked their spots in the last four.

In the day’s opening encounter, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors edged Ibom BSC 1–0, thanks to a second-period strike from captain Gabriel Chinweze. Despite late pressure from the Uyo-based side, Anambra held firm to claim their first win of the Super Finals and a crucial three points that secured qualification.

The evening session witnessed one of the shocks of the tournament as Jigawa Golden Stars BSC stunned 2022 champions Kada BSC with a hard-fought 5–4 victory.
A brilliant hat-trick from Bagudu Hamza, supported by goals from Nasiru Atahiru and Magudi Atahiru, sealed the memorable win.
However, Kada’s goals from Frank Dozie, Sani Hassan, Victor Tale, and Tanko Emmanuel weren’t enough to prevent their first defeat of the season — though they still advanced on goal difference.

The day ended with a pulsating clash between defending champions Kebbi Fishers BSC and Ibom BSC, which finished 1–1 in regulation time.
Jude Uwaoma thought he had snatched a late winner for Ibom, but Ekene Obi struck back moments later to force a penalty shootout.
Kebbi Fishers held their nerve from the spot, winning 3–1 to top Group A with four points, ahead of Anambra Warriors (3 pts) and Ibom BSC (0 pts).

Group B ended in rare fashion as all three teams — Kada BSC, Kebbi United BSC, and Jigawa Golden Stars BSC — finished level on three points. Kada advanced as group winners with a superior goal difference (+2), while Kebbi United edged Jigawa to second place on goals scored and head-to-head record.
