The Board members of Saudi Sports Media Federation has approved the launch of the Sports Media Support Fund, which is one of the Federation’s initiatives announced earlier. The objective is to provide support and assistance to sports media professionals and their families in appreciation of their great role in serving the sports media.

The support fund, which is based on contributions, will help pay the debts of insolvents, in addition to defraying the costs of health and curative services and helping to provide the basic needs for those who satisfy the conditions for support.

The board of Saudi Sports Media Federation had announced in its fifth “remote” meeting, which was held on Tuesday evening, April 21, 2020, the approval of a committee composed of members of the board to oversee the work of the Fund and to define its mechanisms, along with seeking to obtain finance from bodies and juridical persons to support the Fund’s budget.

It is reported that the Fund had started last May to provide support for the media professionals affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, helping them fulfill their basic needs and obligations.
