Samuel Chukwueze’s agent claims English Premier League interest

Samuel Chukwueze’s agent, Johny Ogbah claims that an English Premier League club is interested in signing his client.

The winger could leave Villarreal in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old has been a part of the first team at the La Liga side since September, with four goals being scored from 12 outings in all competitions.

Villarreal are keen to extend the player’s contract and insert a large release clause, but Chukwueze has been linked with Arsenal and his representative has acknowledged that there is interest from England.

Ogbah is quoted by CastellonInformation as saying: “Many clubs are interested in signing Samu, but we will have a clearer idea of it in the New Year.

“Of course Villarreal is interested in renewing his contract. A Premier League club has shown a lot of interest.”

Chukwueze had broken into former Manager Calleja’s starting XI and is also working hard to keep his position, under Luis Garcia.

The former Diamond Academy star had a debut season to remember after joining the Yellow Submarines following his failed move to Arsenal, scoring eight goals for their U19s before being promoted to team B where he bagged three goals on their way to the Segunda B play-off final where they lost to Elche.

He was an integral member of Nigeria’s team that won the U17 World Cup in 2015 where he won the Bronze Boot.

His contract is currently due to expire at the end of the season.
