The 2019 African Games bronze medallist showed resilience and form in the adverse weather conditions, narrowly missing out on the top spot to home favourite Alexander Masyutenko, who won in 45.39s.

Nathaniel’s time marks a significant improvement as he continues his build-up toward key international meets this season, including the African Championships and Olympic qualifiers.

In other events, Nigeria’s Faith Osamuyi competed in the women’s 100m hurdles, finishing fifth in 13.36s (-0.5). Meanwhile, Wisdom Great Musa placed seventh in the men’s 110m hurdles, clocking 14.12s.

Despite the wet and challenging conditions in Zhukovsky, the Nigerian athletes gave a solid account of themselves, using the meet as valuable experience on the European circuit. With the season heating up, all eyes will be on their progress in upcoming competitions.
