Lawal, who has been in fine form this season with five goals and two assists in 19 appearances, caught the attention of Nigeria’s national team selectors after a standout spell in Europe.
He earned a surprise call-up to the Super Eagles squad for AFCON 2025, making one appearance, and has previously represented Nigeria at the U-20 level.
A move to Qarabağ could provide the talented forward with regular continental football, potentially strengthening his case for future national team call-ups and showcasing his abilities on a bigger stage.
