Royaltoms Queens are set to begin their campaign in the 2025/2026 Lagos State League season as the club looks to make a strong statement in one of the state’s competitive women’s football competitions.
The team has been drawn in the Atlantic Conference alongside five other sides: CATS Ladies, FC Phoenix Queens, Island Stars Amazon, Great Stars Amazon, and Victorious Angels.
Royaltoms Queens will open their season on May 14, 2026, with a clash against CATS Ladies at the NPA Field in Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos. The fixture is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 pm and is expected to provide an early test for both teams as they begin their league journey.
Speaking with Sports247Naija, club President and CEO Olajide Royal expressed confidence in the team’s readiness ahead of the new campaign. According to him, preparations have been intense as the club aims to compete strongly rather than merely participate in the competition.
He emphasized that the squad, largely made up of young players, has been undergoing rigorous training sessions designed to improve fitness, tactical discipline, and overall competitiveness ahead of the demanding season.
Olajide also highlighted the importance of the recently concluded Women Football Preseason Tournament in shaping the team’s preparation. Royaltoms Queens advanced deep into the competition and gained valuable experience from several highly competitive matches before eventually exiting in the semifinals to the side that later emerged champions.
The club believes those preseason performances have helped sharpen the players mentally and physically ahead of the league opener.
With optimism growing within the camp, Royaltoms Queens will now be hoping to translate their preparation into strong performances on the pitch as they seek to establish themselves as serious contenders in the Lagos State League this season.
All attention will now shift to their opening encounter against CATS Ladies as the new campaign officially gets underway.
