Rotary Club of Ikaja Alauasa under the leadership of Dr Tonna is planning to organize a peace novelty football match aimed at drawing the support of young people in the need for peaceful election in Nigeria in 2023.
This is in line with the theme of the month of February (Peacebuilding & Conflicts Prevention Month) in accordance with the Rotary International.
The organisers say it seeks to bring together business executives, religious and youth leaders, entertainers and people from various fields of human endeavour for a joint effort for societal change.
Speaking, the Club President ๐ง๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐ข๐ด๐๐๐ถ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ณ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฎ said there is need for synergy as a club to put hands together to preach peace to the consciousness of the youth.
“Everyone is agitating for a better Nigeria, we felt as an organisation that promotes peace, this is time to create awareness for peaceful election.
“The effort is to gather industry players in their various fields, we have different organisations so we believe we can set up an effort that will change this nation.
They insist that free and fair process is a sure way for a peaceful election.
The game will be played at the Olusosun Primary School Oregun, proposed two teams include, Team Peacebuilding & Team Conflicts Prevention.
