Rohr Needs To Work Harder – Shorunmu

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ike Shorumo has declared that the team’s handler, Gernot Rohr must work harder in order to build a squad that is capable of making Nigerians proud.

Shorunmu, who was also a point goalkeepers’ trainer in the Eagles, told sports247.ng that the only way Rohr can reach his desires with the team is to step up his efforts.

Shorunmu added that, apart from the need for Rohr to redouble his efforts, the players also have to play a key role in taking the team forward, starting with next weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.

The former FC Zurich of Switzerland shot-stopper added that the task at hand now is to ensure that the Eagles qualify for next year’s AFCON, for which he says only total dedication would make it possible.

The ex-international, fondly called ‘Ike Anobi,’ stressed: “It is only with persistence hard work that Gernot Rohr will get a formidable team for the country.

“It is not easy to maintain a squad without hard work, both for the coach and all the players invited for the double header against Libya. They all have to work hard to ensure victory both home and away.”
