A newly established football talent discovery hub in Ibadan, Oyo State, Rising Roots Football Academy has unveiled ambitious plans ahead of the 2026 season, announcing a major recruitment drive for technical staff alongside the launch of its U17 Open Trials.

As part of its expansion, Rising Roots is currently accepting applications for several key technical and medical roles, including Head Coach, Goalkeeper Coach, and Team Nurse.

In line with the modern demands of football, the academy is also seeking an Assistant Coach with Video Analysis expertise to integrate tactical data into daily training routines.

To further strengthen its high-performance environment, vacancies are open for a Performance Coach, Physiotherapist, and Masseur, ensuring players receive optimal physical preparation and recovery support.

U17 Open Trials Announced

Alongside the staff recruitment, Rising Roots has officially announced its 2026 U17 Open Trials, as the academy begins its search for the next generation of Nigerian football stars.

The trials are designed to identify disciplined and high-potential young players and offer them a pathway into structured elite development, exposure, and potential professional opportunities.

Two regional trial centres have been confirmed:

Akure: April 20, 2026, by 10:00 a.m. at Akure Township Stadium

Ibadan: April 22, 2026, by 9:00 a.m. at Odogbo Barracks Stadium
