Okigwe, Imo State–born volleyball star Emmanuel Chibuike has expressed his joy after winning gold for Imo State in the men’s volleyball event at the Niger Delta Games.
Chibuike was part of the Imo State team that defeated Edo State in the final on Wednesday, completing a thrilling campaign to secure the gold medal.

Speaking after the victory, the outside hitter described the triumph as a landmark moment in his career.
“My first gold medal was a great day in my life. The comeback, the excitement — everything was special. I am an outside hitter and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute,” Chibuike said.
“We are very happy that the girls also won. God bless you all. We are very hopeful because of our training, experience, and prayers.”
