On the spot checks by Sports247 revealed that hardly would a day pass without one football match or the other taking place at the arena owned by Honourable Kunle Soname.

Incidentally, the former chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area in Lagos State owns three clubs – Remo Stars FC, Remo Stars Queens and Beyond Limit Football Academy – who play their home matches at the expansive arena.
While Remo Stars feature in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), Remo Stars Queens are in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) and Beyond Limit play in the second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL).
However, apart from hosting home matches for these three teams in their respective leagues, Remo Stars Stadium has also been flooded with a large number of friendly matches involving them, as other teams aim to use the trio in experiencing the arena’s opulence.
Interestingly, the same quest for exposure and adventure has led some youth teams into the arena, which boasts of a main bowl, two practice pitches, a satellite playing ground, open air basketball court, hostel building and 4-star hotel within the same complex.
Sports247 gathered that two youth teams – Bobby’s Football Academy and the Ikenne branch of Lagos-based Super Accurate Football Academy – both train regularly at the arena and often host friendly games in the main bowl.
Dramatically, four clubs in the third-tier Nationwide League One (NLO) also play their home matches at the arena, while a leading team in the division, Grass Runners FC of Sagamu train there three times a week.
The owner of AMG Sports Academy of Lagos, Adejumo Raji, whose team play their N-Youth League home matches at Remo Stars Stadium, told Sports247 that they chose the venue because there are no good pitches in their immediate environment.
“Many clubs use this stadium as their home ground, but that’s not where all the matches are played. The competition takes place in other parts of the country, but many games hold here majorly on Tuesdays.
“Some games also take place on Wednesdays, depending on the teams involved and how the fixtures are arranged. We are using there as our home ground because we could not get a good pitch in Lagos,” Raji pointed out.
Sports247 further reports that the arena owned by Honourable Soname also plays host to matches of Nigeria’s various female national teams and recently welcomed the 2026 NNL Super-4 play-off.
Incidentally, Soname is also the chairman of a leading Nigerian sports stakes company, Bet9ja, as well as majority share holder at Fareinse FC of Portugal.
