Remo Stars Roast Dannaz Ladies in Lagos as NWFL Premiership First Stanza Ends

The first stanza of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership concluded on Matchday Nine with emphatic results across multiple centres, headlined by Remo Stars Ladies’ dominant away victory over Dannaz Ladies in Lagos.

At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Remo Stars Ladies delivered a commanding 3–0 win against Dannaz Ladies.

Aishat Animashaun struck twice in the 14th and 75th minutes, before Daniella Fagbenro sealed the result late on to cap a convincing performance by the visitors.

In Yenagoa, champions Bayelsa Queens maintained their strong form with a 2–0 victory over Ekiti Queens. Bankole Sofiat opened the scoring in the 24th minute, while Delight Isaac added a second shortly after the break.

At Ile-Ogbo, honours were shared as Osun Babes and Delta Queens played out a 1–1 draw.

Favour Damaris gave Delta Queens an early lead in the 19th minute before Tabitha Terlumun restored parity for the hosts before halftime.

A goalless draw was recorded in Iyamho where Confluence Queens held Sunshine Queens.

In Makwada, Adamawa Queens edged Heartland Queens 2–1, with Omon Afensimi netting twice. Heartland’s goal came via an unfortunate own goal by Immaculate Paul.

Abuja saw Naija Ratels secure a narrow 1–0 win over Pacesetter Queens, courtesy of Omeje Chukwube’s 48th-minute strike.

In Aba, Abia Angels outgunned Ahudiyannem Queens 5–2 in a seven-goal thriller.

Winner David starred with a first-half hat-trick, while Blessing Saleh and Obianuju Akwubo added further goals for the visitors.

At Lafia, Nasarawa Amazons produced an attacking display to defeat FC Robo Queens 4–2. Goals from Sunday Ohunene, Ayatsea Hembafan, Jumoke Alani and Bibiana Odoh ensured maximum points for the Amazons.

The final fixture in Port Harcourt saw Rivers Angels claim a 2–1 win over Edo Queens. Abasiofon Uwah scored twice in the first half to cancel out Atume Doosuur’s equaliser and hand the hosts a crucial victory.

With Matchday Nine concluded, attention now shifts to the second stanza of the NWFL Premiership as teams regroup and intensify their push for honours in the race for continental places and survival.
