Real Betis Monitor Onyemaechi Ahead Of January Transfer Window

Spanish La Liga side Real Betis have reportedly joined the clubs monitoring Super Eagles defender Bruno Onyemaechi ahead of the January transfer window.

Onyemaechi, who currently plays for Greek champions Olympiacos, has attracted attention from the Spanish club following his performances since moving to Greece.

Reports from Spanish and Greek football sources indicate that Real Betis are keeping a close watch on the 27-year-old left-back as they consider options to strengthen their squad when the January transfer window opens.

Transfer reporter Ekrem Konur reported on September 30 that Real Betis are tracking the Nigerian defender, while Soccernet also reported that the Spanish club is considering Onyemaechi as a potential January target.

However, there has been no official bid from Real Betis for the player, and no negotiations between the two clubs have been confirmed.

Olympiacos reportedly value Onyemaechi at around €6 million, having signed him from Portuguese side Boavista in January 2025 for a reported €2.5 million. The Nigerian is under contract with the Greek club until June 2028.

Onyemaechi has made six appearances for Olympiacos this season and scored once, according to Sport24. Overall, he has recorded 45 appearances for the Greek club since joining them.

The defender previously spent time with Portuguese sides Feirense and Boavista before making the move to Olympiacos. His versatility and experience at left-back have made him a player of interest to clubs outside Greece.

For now, the reported interest from Real Betis remains at the monitoring stage, with no concrete offer on the table.

Any potential move could become clearer when the January transfer window opens, but Onyemaechi remains an Olympiacos player with his contract running until 2028.
