RANGERS INTERNATIONAL PICK A VITAL POINT IN SHAGAMU PUT REMO IN TIGHT ROPE

One of the NPFL outfit, Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) were on Wednesday held to a goalless draw by Rangers International in a rescheduled match day eleven (11) fixture at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu.

 

sports247.ng reports that the Ogun state based club had series of chances at the first half but failed to convert their chances mounting sustained pressure on the Rangers goal at points during the contest. Gbenga Ogunbote’s lads were so resolute and their point away from home.

The Sky Blue Stars dominated the opening stages of the match but it took until 16th minute for the the Sky Blue Stars to threaten, although Muoghara Dede’s header from a long ball was never going to beat goalkeeper Nana Bonsu.

The Sky Blue Stars came closer with beautiful display and nice exchange of passes from the boys, Solomon John sent in a cross and Edoka Owochio’s attempt went over the bar.

Rangers International went back up the other end and a chance was created for Bright Silas from Ifeanyi George’s free kick, he tapped in but he was caught in an offside position.

Shokunbi Dare, Muoghara Dede and Ndah Olisa connected well to set up Mbaoma, he immediately sent the pass to Akemini but his attempt went wide and the pressure produced nothing and afterwards,Muoghara Dede sent a good pass towards Ogbobe Clement, he located Chidume Victor who sent directly to Victor Mbaoma, he set up Akemini Kingsley but his attempt was blocked by Tope Olusesi.

The Sky Blue Stars continued to put pressure on the visitors, Ndah Olisa took a long pass inside the visitors box but Tope Olusesi denied Shokunbi Dare from giving them the lead.

At the very last minutes of the game, Awoyemi Abiodun sighted Victor Mbaoma with a short free kick, he took the ball with his chest to set up Michael Bolaji but he wasn’t close to convert for the host.

Another late minute chance fell on Ogwuche Mathias inside the visitors box, he tried to make it count for the Sky Blue Stars but he ballooned the ball over the bar and the visiting supporters were left to celebrate what could turn out to be an important point come the end of the seasons
