Quadri Climbs One Spot In Global Table Tennis Ranking

Nigeria’s leading ping-pong player, Aruna Quadri has climbed a step in the global rankings by International Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), as he now stands 25th in the world.

Sports247.ng gathered that Quadri pooled additional points with a win in Hungary to move up one rung from 26th and retain his spot as Africa’s highest ranked player in the world.

Although he could not go beyond the preliminary round of the Hungarian Open, Quadri gained some points to move a step up in the February ITTF ranking released by the world table tennis ruling body.

Egypt’s Omar Assar remains the second best ranked African player after he gained three steps, up to 44 from 47 in the ranking, while Nigeria’s Olajide Omotayo rose to 141 from 146, after the Hungarian Open.

Men’s singles winner at the Hungarian Open, China’s Lin Gaoyuan moves up to number three and thus equals the highest listing of his career, as he also held same position in June and August last year.
