QNET, Transblue Introduce QNETCity Coaching Clinic In Abeokuta Southwest Nigeria

QNET, a global e-commerce based direct selling company, is providing a tailor-made support for football development in partnership with Manchester City Football Club (ManCity).

The aim is to use the partnership QNET as a sponsor of ManCity to improve, develop and support football across in Nigeria.

QNET became the official direct selling partner of ManCity in 2014. The collaboration has since become on of their most important sports partnership. Over the years, the has expanded to many areas, including the display of the QNET logo at the Etihad Stadium, the launch of the QNETCity watch, the creation of a partnership with the ManCity women’s team, and the creation of the QNET-City Football Language School.

The QNETCity Coaching Clinic in Nigeria aims to enable young footballers from different states to find a common ground and a source of encouragement to envisage a better future.

Also to leverage on the technological advancement needed for skills development programs available for young talented footballers in Nigeria to build the skills necessary to start and grow their footballing career in different areas, including shooting, dribbling, and passing,” which are the major skills that distinguished a top talents.

During a media parley held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Abeokuta, Mr. Biram Fall, QNET’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa expressed satisfaction with the organization of the football.

He added that although it’s the first time that such an event has been organized in Nigeria, QNET is exploring options to host more football events in the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Akeem Ajisafe, Managing Director of Transblue Limited, QNET’s partner in Nigeria said his company is excited to be part of history, he also brought to the front burner, the need to do more in developing kids in all spheres.

In his words, “the partnership is basically to improve players skills, the encouragement from the people and the coaches and the support for our business prompt us to move to the next stage, which is developing football in Nigeria, creating a football academy where we can have partnership with ManCity which is our partners overseas, pick some of our players from Nigeria, this is possible and this is something we can look at in the future, but at the moment what we are doing is to improve the skills of Nigerian players that will allow them to compete globally and gain access to new clubs,” he said.

Furthermore, he said, “coming to Ogun state was not a mistake and was not just by chance, we actually look at certain parameters to decide where is best for us to start the program, we plan to do this in different part of Nigeria, we have not decided where yet but at the moment Ogun state seems to be one of the quite environment, we would do more in Nigeria when it comes to football but the state we are going next I don’t know but we are going to other state, but we hope the security in Nigeria gets better also, he concluded.

Former coach of the Super Eagles, Johannes Bonfrere also present says Nigeria is blessed with a lot of talents who can grow to become stars in their own right.

He also stated emphatically that the kids taking part in the QNETCity coaching clinic are extremely talented, he added that with proper mentoring and tutoring, Nigeria will continue to produce more stars.

The Atlanta 1996 Gold Medal winning gaffer is present at the QNETCity Coaching Clinic taking centre stage in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
He said: “Nigeria is like a second home, the players here are very strong, they are not lazy, they always work hard.”
