Competing indoors, Amasiatu stormed to a new personal best of 7.52s in the semifinals, improving on her 7.61s run earlier in the rounds.
The performance underlined her rapid adaptation to a new environment and a higher level of competition, just weeks after relocating from Nigeria.
Having only left the country last month, the smoothness of her transition has stood out.
Much of that foundation was laid back home under the guidance of the ever-dedicated Coach George Obiano, whose work continues to bear fruit as his athlete thrives on the international stage.
For Lindsey Wilson, Amasiatu’s early impact signals the arrival of a potent new weapon in their sprint ranks. For Nigeria, it is another encouraging sign of raw talent translating seamlessly beyond home borders.
With a personal best already falling in her freshman campaign, Promise Amasiatu’s journey is just beginning — and the early signs point to a very exciting season ahead.
