President Tinubu’s Fatherly Leadership Restores Hope to Nigerian Families as Oriire Schoolchildren Regain Freedom — SSA Adeboye

...Commends President, Security Agencies for Successful Rescue, Says Safe Communities Remain Fundamental to Youth Development

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for what he described as his fatherly leadership and unwavering commitment to the safety, welfare, and future of Nigerian children, following the successful rescue of the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire Community in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Hon. Adeboye said the successful rescue, after fifty-six days in captivity, is a clear demonstration that under President Tinubu’s leadership, no Nigerian child will be abandoned and every lawful effort will continue to be deployed to protect lives and secure communities across the country.

He commended the President for providing strategic leadership throughout the operation and praised the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and other security agencies for their professionalism, courage, and resilience, which led to the safe rescue of the victims without collateral damage.

“The successful rescue of these innocent children and their teachers is more than a security victory; it is a reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s fatherly love, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of every Nigerian child. Mr. President has once again demonstrated that the lives of our children matter and that his administration will spare no effort in protecting them.”

The Presidential aide noted that the operation has restored hope and confidence among Nigerian families, especially parents whose greatest desire is to see their children learn and grow in a safe environment.

According to him, the rescue reinforces the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, which places premium importance on protecting lives, strengthening national security, and investing in the nation’s greatest asset—its young people.

Hon. Adeboye stressed that meaningful youth development through education, sports, and other empowerment programmes can only flourish in peaceful and secure communities.

“Every child deserves the freedom to learn, play, dream, and realise his or her potential without fear. Security is the foundation upon which education, grassroots sports development, and youth empowerment are built. As we continue to develop sports from the grassroots, we must equally continue to support efforts that guarantee the safety of our schools and communities.”

The SSA also commended the Government of Oyo State for its cooperation with the Federal Government throughout the rescue efforts, describing the collaboration as a model of effective intergovernmental partnership in addressing security challenges.

He welcomed President Tinubu’s directive for emergency medical care, psychological support, and other relief services for the rescued pupils and teachers, noting that the welfare and rehabilitation of the victims are essential to helping them recover from the traumatic experience.

Hon. Adeboye further expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Oyedokun, who lost his life during the unfortunate incident, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul and comfort for his loved ones.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development to supporting initiatives that promote youth development, national unity, and community resilience, while urging Nigerians to continue supporting the security agencies with credible information to strengthen the collective fight against criminality.

“As a nation, we must remain united behind our security institutions and continue to work together to protect our children, strengthen our communities, and build a safer Nigeria. The successful rescue at Oriire reminds us that with determined leadership, effective collaboration, and the courage of our security personnel, hope will always triumph over fear.”
