Hard hitting Nigerian professional boxer, Tosin ‘Sojarboy’ Osaigbovo has confirmed an upcoming rematch against his arch-rival, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola, scheduled to hold on August 30th under the banner of De-Lad Boxing Promotions.
Sports247 reports that ‘Sojarboy’ is already training harrd ahead of the date with Oyekola, who is also popularly known as ‘Ogo Ibadan,’ as they have both signed their contracts for the rematch, ahead of which he expressed confidence for victory, with a vow to produce a stronger performance.
“I have signed my contract, and Scorpion has done the same. Now, it’s time to settle our rivalry once and for all inside the ring,” Sojarboy said; but his opponent’s coach and manager, Patricio, fired back that his ward has gained a lot of improvements since their last bout.
“This is no longer the old Scorpion they fought before. He is a completely different fighter now. We have successfully blended his natural African strength with the technical discipline of the Mexican boxing style, making him a more complete and dangerous boxer,” Patricio said.
He concluded with words of praise for the promoters and Nigerian boxing in general, adding: “I have great respect for De Lad’s Boxing Promotions. They are setting the standard for boxing promotion in Africa. Their commitment to developing boxing and organising world-class fights deserves commendation.”
