“Playing With Naija Ratels In The NWFL Super Six Has Been Superb,” Ojo Oluwatofehinti Lauds Entire Ratels Crew After First Season With The Team

A debut season in the Nigerian Women’s Football League for Naija Ratels wasn’t without a hyper feeling for the players, coaching crew and management as the team got into the Super Six playing against the best women’s teams in the country.

“Ojay” as she’s popularly called, signed before the start of the season from Rainieri Ladies, Ojo Oluwatofehinti, having played for University of Lagos Angels several times, the striker was full of joy at the experience of playing in the country’s top flight for the first time in her career.

“Playing for Naija Ratels has been superb. It has been wonderful as the team has discipline and purpose which I notice from the first time o saw the team. They are a team that have proper plans for themselves and the players,” Ojay told Sports247.

“Being the first time in the NWFL, others looked down on us but we qualified for the Super Six, and we’re happy to get to that position. We’ll keep surprising people and we thank the chairman who I respect so much as well as coach Bankole and the entire crew who are parents to us,” she added.

Playing football right from secondary school for fun among boys, without plans for professionalism and also doing more of athletics, picking up late and only deciding to play professional football after her first year in the University of Lagos with maximum support of her parents and siblings, Ojay looks to make impact in

“In five years, I see myself making great positive impact in World football in my society, supporting the younger ones to make headway in life in the proper way, trying to make amendments to the things that have gone wrong with our system as well,” Ojay concluded.
