Pinnick Seeks Support, Prayers From Nigerians

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has sent out a fresh appeal for support and prayers from soccer lovers in the country, as he says the governing body is trying to put everything right in the round leather game.

Speaking against the back drop of the female national team, Super Falcons winning the 11th Africa Cup of Nations in Accra, Ghana on his 45th birthday, Pinnick told sports247.ng that he is happy with recent strides achieved by the country.

Pinnick, however, admitted that one of the biggest issues he is still battling to overcome is the critical responses from Nigerians to the NFF’s operations.

He went on to appeal to Nigerians to take it easy on the federation and said they should instead pray for the progress of the country in all events and competitions that the nation’s teams are involved.

Pinnick said: “I just want to appeal to Nigerians that, in any way the NFF may have erred in our dealings, maybe with some interests in the past, they should forgive us and pray for us to succeed.

“I have dedicated the AWCON trophy to all Nigerians, because it is the support from everyone that made the Falcons triumphant in Ghana.”
