Pinnick Leads Battle Cry Against South Africa

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Melvin Amaju PInnick is leading the battle cry for victory over South Africa in Saturday’s Africa Women Cup of Nations final.

Speaking to the Nigerian team ahead of the game at Accra Sports Centre in Ghana, Pinnick said he has proud of what the Super Falcons have achieved so far at this year’s edition of the competition, but said they must not relax until they win the cup again.

It would be the ninth time Nigeria will carry the trophy out of 11 editions, but sports247.ng can report that Pinnick is unflinching and insatiable in his demands, as he says the Falcons will get a fatter money largess to relish.

After noting the ‘Nigerian Spirit’ being exhibited by the players at AWCON 2018, Pinnick promised to increase their win bonus for the final to $10,000 each, as he stressed that they have everything to play for.

Pinnick added: “I want to let you know that the federal government and the good and great people of Nigeria are happy with your performance in the championship so far.

“They are looking forward to you retaining the trophy by beating South Africa on Saturday.

“Let me commend the lofty commitment, dedication and resilience that you have displayed so far in the championship.

“Alongside that (is the) unique Nigerian spirit that was most in evidence against the Cameroonians in the semi final.

“You are indeed true champions, and we believe you will retain the Cup on Saturday.

“Go out there and win on Saturday and earn yourselves $10,000 each, as against the $5,000 that the NFF earlier promised.”
