Philip Otele To Play Alongside Arokodare In Wolves’ Attack?

Tolu Arokodare may soon have a Nigerian-born player join him in attack at Wolverhampton Wanders of England, as The Molineux outfit are reportedly in talks with FC Basel of Switzerland for the signature of Philip Otele.

Sports247 gathered that Arokodare would be glad to get extra firepower upfront with the struggling side, as Otele is a highly rated winger who can operate down both sides of attack.

However, Arokodare will have to keep his fingers crossed and wait with abated breath, as Otele’s transfer is yet to be approved by Basel, who are also eager to hold unto the 26-year-old speedster.

Otele is also wanted by Fulham, but Wolves are almost desperate to lure him over to Molineux, as the English Premier League’s bottom-placed club are in dire need of fresh punch upfront.

While Arokodare has gained some prominence in Wolves’ attack, as he played his part in their recent matches, he and the entire squad would surely profit from Otele’s presence.

A report by BBC Sport adds, “Wolves are exploring the prospect of taking Otele on-loan for the remainder of the season.

“The uncapped Nigerian joined Basel last year from UAE’s Al Wahda. Otele, 26, is keen on the move, though negotiations still have some way to go.

“Basel are demanding £7m to sell the midfielder, while Wolves prefer a loan-to-buy arrangement.”
