Osimhen Will Not Be Fit For Reverse Fixture …We Want To Win In Sierra Leone – Gernot Rohr

Head Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is confident that his team will win the reverse fixture in Freetown come Tuesday despite letting a 4-1 lead slip away only to be pecked back to 4-4.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin took a 4-1 lead at halftime only to be pecked back and forced to a 4-4 draw by the West Africans.

Rohr while Speaking to Sports 247 blamed the collapse on poor preparation, lack of concentration, hot weather conditions as well as lack of strong mentality on the part of the players.

We are now trying to analyse. We had a very bad preparation, the Players arrived very late, even a day before the match. We had only one quality training together. Hot weather also affecting the players physically and mentally. The young players are not yet strong mentally. But I know my players, they will do their best to win in Freetown”.

Gernot Rohr also noted that Victor Osimhen is injured and will miss the reverse fixture in Freetown on Tuesday
” Osimhen is out for Freetown game as a result of shoulder dislocation, he noted.

The Coach also confirmed that the likes of Samuel Chukwueze and Leon Balogun both had few knocks in the match but may still be fit for the trip to Sierra Leone on Tuesday.
