Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, produced another ruthless attacking display by thrashing Future Stars ’99 Soccer Academy 15-0 in a friendly match as preparations intensify for their final qualifying round fixture against Benin Republic in the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The emphatic victory, played on Saturday, showcased the team’s attacking depth, with one player scoring a hat-trick and three others registering braces.

Kindness Ifeanyi stole the show with a first-half hat-trick, finding the net in the 8th, 10th and 29th minutes. Tosin Rafiu also struck twice in the opening half, scoring in the 13th and 19th minutes.

Queen Joseph added the sixth goal in the 21st minute before Esther Stephen made it 7-0 five minutes later. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi converted a penalty on the stroke of half-time to give the Flamingos an 8-0 lead at the break.

The goals continued to flow after the restart as Oluebube Umejiaku netted twice in the 60th and 65th minutes, while Destiny Itobore added another in the 63rd minute.

Precious Oscar also grabbed a brace with goals in the 79th and 84th minutes before Tobiloba Sarafa rounded off the scoring with two stoppage-time strikes in the 90+7th and 90+10th minutes

The dominant victory follows another impressive warm-up performance in which the Flamingos defeated RoyalToms Queens 11-0, underlining the team’s readiness for the decisive qualifying tie.

Coach Akeem Busari’s side will now turn their attention to the first leg of the final qualifying round against Benin Republic’s Young Amazons on July 4 at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne.

The return leg is scheduled for July 11 at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo, with the aggregate winners securing Africa’s qualification ticket to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Nigeria reached the final qualifying round after overwhelming Guinea 11-0 on aggregate, while Benin Republic advanced by defeating Sierra Leone 5-1 over two legs.
