Omeruo Hails Laganes’ Moroccan Striker

Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has showered praises on his club’s Moroccan striker, Youssef En-Nesyri, who played a key role in their comeback draw against Rayo Vallecano in the Copa del Rey.

In the wake of Tuesday’s encounter, Omeruo said he was glad that he personally continued his impressive form for Leganes, but sports247.ng reports that he put the 2-2 draw down to the efforts of En-Nesyri.

Omeruo, who started his fourth straight game at home, was glad to get debut in the Spanish Cup and went on to make his mark in the heart of his La Liga team’s defence.

Omeruo, who was on for 90 minutes, had a rating of 7.1, as he made two clearances, one blocked shots, one interception, completed 100% of his tackles, won four of seven duels and completed 88% of his passes.

Though the visitors raced to a two-goal lead, with strikes from Alvaro Garcia in the 15th minute and Alex Alegria, En-Nesyri halved the deficit after the hour before completing the comeback 18 minutes from time.

While heaping praises on the Moroccan for a job well done, Omeruo is now looking forward to a better outing when both sides face off in the second leg to decide who progresses to the next round.

Omeruo posted: “Debut #copadelrey; good fight from the team to come back from two goals down. Congrats to Youseff for the two goals.”
