Super Eagles forward Peter Olayinka is officially on the market after Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade announced a mutual termination of his contract, drawing the curtain on his two-season stint in Belgrade.
The 29-year-old attacker joined Red Star in 2023 from Czech side Slavia Prague, where he had built a strong reputation in European competitions.

During his time in Serbia, Olayinka netted 14 league goals in 46 appearances, playing a key role in the club’s domestic campaign and adding experience to their frontline.
In a statement published on their official website, Red Star confirmed the amicable separation, noting that the Nigerian star had made it clear he was ready for a new phase in his career.
“Red Star Football Club informs the public that it has mutually terminated cooperation with Peter Olayinka with mutual understanding and appreciation,” the club said.
The club further acknowledged Olayinka’s professionalism and commitment during his spell.
“Crvena zvezda thanks Olayinka for everything he has done in the red and white jersey and wishes him success, health, and happiness in the future.”
Olayinka’s exit comes at a pivotal stage in his career, with interest anticipated from clubs across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His proven goal return, Champions League and Europa League experience, and versatility across the forward line make him one of the more attractive free agents currently available.
This move is expected to set the stage for a strategic career decision—one that could define the next chapter of the former Slavia Prague star’s football journey.
