Olatunde, who only recently dipped under 10.20s for the first time, continued his upward trajectory in style, dominating a quality field that included Olympian Enoch Adegoke, who finished second in 10.25s.

After clocking 10.23s in his heat, Olatunde returned for the final with renewed intensity, surging ahead in the final 40m to take command of the race. His win marks his second-ever 10.1 clocking, signaling consistency and a looming sub-10 breakthrough.

The performance not only solidifies his status as one of Nigeria’s most promising young sprinters, but also puts him firmly in the conversation for senior national team selection, especially with the African Championships and World Relays on the horizon.

With his current form, Olaolu Olatunde is no longer just a name to watch—he’s a contender knocking loudly on the doors of national recognition.
