Ohaa: Sports Festival Will Boost Commerce In FCT

Permanent secretary in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ministry, Sir Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa has stated that the upcoming National Sports Festival in the city will boost economic activities in Abuja.

While affirming that the FCT is ready to host a very successful festival, Ohaa told sports247.ng that they will invest in sports henceforth.

Ohaa explained that the ministry of youth and sports and FCT are joint-host of the festival, which will begin on Thursday, 6th of December.

He said the hosts are already expecting a heavy influx of people, as all 36 states of the federation and the FCT will compete for honours.

“It promises to be a very lucrative and economically rewarding National Sports Festival,” Ohaa enthused.

“Abuja is hosting this year’s edition because no state showed interest in hosting the biennial event which began in 1973.

“We want to make the best of the opportunity, because we expect many people to come from all across Nigeria, which means commerce will also flow in Abuja during the period of the festival.”
