Speaking after the match, Oguche acknowledged the challenges faced by the team:
“It was not an easy game for us. We arrived in Ogun State last week, and we’ve been trying to prepare and prepare again.
We’ve got the first match of the second day. As you can see, we are in high spirits and we want to make sure that we go home with the gold. You can see the atmosphere is not easy here at all. The sunlight and the weather in Jos is different from here.”
Addressing concerns about team registration issues, Oguche clarified: “Not at all; it didn’t affect the team, but they were kind of slow with the registering, but everything is okay.”
When asked about the pressure of being labelled a “Class 20” team, Oguche responded confidently: “No, normally, like with the calibre of players we have, everybody is trying to play like a wounded lion. Trying to prove themselves. We are ready and equal to the task. No pressure at all.”
Team Plateau’s performance sets a positive tone for their campaign in the National Sports Festival, as they continue to strive for excellence in the competition.
