Odemwingie has paid his dues, Says Ikpea

National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, has praised former West Brom and Stoke City forward, Osaze Odemwingie, as he retires from active football.

Ikpea said Odemwingie, a former Super Eagles midfielder, took the right step, adding that he knew when to quit the game.

Ikpea stated this in an interview with journalists shortly after the lightskinned striker announced his retirement from professional football.

He described Odemwingie as a Nigerian footballer who would be remembered for his remarkable exploits in the Eagles and with his clubs.

“Odemwingie has paid his dues, I remember his performance at the 2004 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, where he scored two goals against South Africa,” Ikpea added.

Odemwingie last played for Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and scored 36 goals in 129 Premier League appearances between 2010 and 2016.
