NWPL Super4: Confluence will always be my team – Alexander Florence

Former Jokodolu Babes defender, Alexander Florence has discribe Confluence as the best club in her football playing career so far, She was instrumental in her side’s qualification to the Super 4 grabbing a sum of 2million naira in the competition and bagging the best defender award.

The Agege Soccer Temple hosted one of the best women competitions in Nigeria NWPL super 4 which had in attendance the Sports Minister Sunday Dare, Philip Shaibu, Edo State Deputy Governor, Aisha Falode, Chairman of the women Football among many others.

Saturday 2/11/19 will be a memorable day for Alexander after she scooped the best defender award of the just concluded NWPL Super 4 game before suffering a defeat in the hands of the eventual Super 4 winners, Rivers Angels on Sunday losing 1-0 who will be grateful to Chiamaka Nnadoezie heroics for putting them in line after she kept away a dying minute shot of the bar.

“I Left Kogi for Jokodolu Babes, while there, I knew this is not where am supposed to be and I left after just a season to where I have always belonged’, she said.

“Confluence was my first team in the Nigerian Women Premier League, My urge for something new, something different made me joined up with Sunshine until I finally moved to Jokodolu Babes. I knew what my primary goals were, I was moving to gather experience, knowledge. I wanted a new circle and also operate in a new system”, she reflected back.

“At some point in time while at Jokodolu, the standards no longer suited me, I was getting complacent and I thought to myself, I don’t belong here. From that point, I made the move and am back here with Kogi”.

This moment is a very huge period in my life though we would have loved to win after scaling through so many hurdles to be in the finals, this isn’t the end, we go on, plan again, strategize and work hard, hopefully we will get the next.” She concluded.
